“Frazer Scott’s Caronte was mesmerising” (Music OMH). In 2022, Frazer performed the role of Caronte in Monteverdi’s ORFEO at Garsington Opera, also stepping in to understudy the role of Harry in Panufnik’s DALIA during the same season. For his exceptional professional and personal contributions, Garsington Opera awarded him the 2022 Helen Clarke Memorial Award.
“An accomplished farceur” (The Independent), Frazer’s notable operatic credits include Snug in MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM (Garsington Opera and Opera North), Antonio LE NOZZE DI FIGARO (Garsington Opera), Lackey ARIADNE AUF NAXOS (Opera North), and Geronimo in THE SECRET MARRIAGE (British Youth Opera). Frazer made his BBC Proms debut in 2024 as Snug in MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, performing with the rest of the cast from the summer production at Garsington Opera and the Philharmonia Orchestra. His understudies have included Parson in CUNNING LITTLE VIXEN and Old Gypsy in ALEKO, both for Opera North.
Frazer’s concert appearances span prestigious venues such as Wigmore Hall, St Martin in the Fields, Cheltenham Festival, and the Sheldonian Theatre, Oxford. Recently, he performed as a soloist with the BBC Symphony Orchestra in GEORGE WALKER MASS at the Barbican Hall, London. Frazer sang the bass solos in English National Ballet’s production of Stravinsky’s LES NOCES at Sadler’s Wells.
Frazer appears as a soloist on the Orchestra of St John’s recording of Mozart’s REQUIEM. His voice has been featured in Kettle Chips advertisements across the USA, and he previously sang jingles for BBC Radio. He made his BBC Radio 3 debut alongside Richard Goulding, Jemma Redgrave, and Stephanie Cole in the summer of 2014, appearing as ‘Wilf’ in Iain Burnside’s radio-play version of A SOLDIER AND A MAKER.
Frazer won the Schubert Society Singer Prize at the 2019 London Song Festival Lieder Masterclass. At the Wigmore Hall final of the 2013 Maureen Lehane Vocal Awards, Frazer was awarded the Audience Prize and 1st Runner-Up, performing alongside Amber Rainey. He was also a finalist in the Reginald Vincent Lieder Prize in 2008.
Frazer studied on the Guildhall School of Music & Drama Opera Course, where he also completed his postgraduate studies. As an undergraduate, Frazer was awarded a First Class Hons. BMus Degree from the (now Royal) Birmingham Conservatoire.
